Piano teacher Bethesda, Maryland Inja Stanic updated

Inja Stanic received her MA from the American University, where she was awarded a two-year fellowship as an accompanist, and BA in music performance from the University of Maryland. She has been on the faculty of The American University Prep, Washington Conservatory of Music, Holton-Arms School, and Columbia Institute of Fine Arts. Ms. Stanic was also employed by the International Piano Archives, where she conducted research on numerous Russian and American pianists.

Ms. Stanic has won recognition for expanding the repertory of piano and chamber literature by promoting works of contemporary Balkan composers in numerous lecture recitals. Her performances have been broadcast by The National Public Radio,and The Voice of America throughout Europe and America. She has performed at The National Theater, Polish, Finnish, Austrian, and Yugoslav Embassies, and fundraisers sponsored by The Balkan Express, Women for Women, and Latin American Cultural Heritage Foundation. Her latest CD's are "Memories of Yugoslavia", and "Tengo Nostalgia de Ti". Ms. Stanic's writings were published in The International Journal of Musicology, and Perspectives of New Music.

Ms. Stanic is a pianist of an international acclaim whose teaching reflects thorough experience as a performer and a pedagogue. In her teaching, her goal is not only to instill strong musical and technical fundamentals, but to foster a true appreciation for the arts. Ms. Stanic's teaching philosophy is to help student develop as complete and versatile musicians. Her students develop their technical, aural, rhythmic and reading skills, and she encourages them to analyze, interpret, compose and sight-read. In older and more advanced students, Ms. Stanic teaches musical clarity and power, technical facility, the production of a wide range of beautiful sounds, and an understanding of musical structure.

Her warm personality, insightful approach, and individually tailored teaching method have produced astonishing results: her students have have received superior ratings in music festivals, auditions and competitions, and have been accepted as music majors in some of the best music Colleges and Conservatories in USA and abroad.
